VASCULAR APERTURE

Amazon Spheres Artist in Residence, Seattle WA 2023

Vascular Aperture is a site-specific installation exploring the intersection of art, architecture, and science to investigate biophilia – our innate desire to be connected to our environment and other living things. The installation is inspired by the intricate patterns, layers, textures, and colors of plant vascular systems and cellular structures that are undetectable without magnification. The imagery depicted as void and layered or segmented reveals the intricate plant systems beyond what is visible by the human eye. This project was created as part of a project-specific residency in the unique building structure of the Amazon Spheres.
